Day 5 on the Portland Pilgrimage

Really quick, before I talk about today's excitement, I found some more pictures from the Monterey Bay Aquarium that I originally cut, that I reveiwed and found blog worthy...

After a frantic search for Mom's phone at the Turrentine house this morning (Pat found it in the recycle basket...sigh...it's long story), we set off for Petaluma and Knitterly. We arrived at about 1:30 in the afternoon to the surprise and delight of the Knitterly staff (Paige and Jen). Apparently, there was a communication breakdown and we were'nt expected until tomorrow, but it all worked out. Since we weren't scheduled to demontrate, Mom and I walked around beautiful downtown Petaluma. Two stores down from Knitterly, we walked passed the window display of this shop called Nan Winters and both of us stopped short in our tacks. In the window, was the PERFECT outfit that Mom was looking for for our trip to New York. Unfortunately, when we looked at the shop hours, the were "technically" closed, but as soon as we started to walk away, a shadowy figure came rushing from the back of the store and opened the door. "I'm in here working anyway, so you might as well come in and take a look around if you like". We felt bad, but the gorgeous outfit called to us.... Once we introduced ourselves to Garrett and Nan, Mom gleefully went into the fitting room and tried on the outfit that fit perfectly. We talked awhile while purchasing our goods, invited Nan to the demo tomorrow night, and carefully avoided the perfect paint job the Garrett had just completed on the counter front. They were very nice and if I am ever in the market for another fancy dress, I know just where to go!

Tomorrow's posts will have lots of pictures of Knitterly, I promise!
